KVM session is a special service access to a dedicated server. With it, the user operates as if they are actually sitting in front of the monitor. Providing full control of the server, keyboard, and mouse is the advantage of KVM. It is used during troubleshooting related to server booting: errors in network settings, unavailability of RDP or SSH connections. Thanks to KVM, the user can observe the server boot process, change BIOS and boot settings, install the operating system from an .iso image, format the disk, and more.
Connecting to the KVM session is done by sending a random request from the [control panel]. It specifies the server name or IP. If you need to attach your own .iso image to the server, you must send a link to the direct download, indicating the required .iso file.
The KVM console is hardware-software. Its physical connection to the server ports is performed by data center staff. The number of consoles is limited. Connections are made on a first-come, first-served basis, and the duration of the session is limited. For example, for dedicated servers located in Germany, the free process lasts for three hours a day. To reserve additional time in the same amount, a fee of ten euros is required. This must be done in advance: two hours before the scheduled time, in increments of 15 minutes.
