How to install programs using Internet Explorer on Windows

29 September, 2023

Windows Server servers have default settings enabled that enhance the security of Internet Explorer and protect against attacks and potential threats. Programs downloaded through the browser will not run, and website pages will be displayed incorrectly while enhanced security settings are enabled. In some cases, such as when installing another internet browser like Chrome, there is a need to disable enhanced security settings. Here’s how to do it:

  • Go to “Start” and select “Server Manager”;
  • In the row against the item “Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration”, click the “Enabled” button;
  • In the window that appears, select the two items “Disabled” and save the selected settings by clicking the corresponding button.

Now the Internet Explorer web browser will load and install software or other applications for internet use as required by the user.
